Saltash Heritage recently had donated a large amount of correspondence from the 18th & 19th century from members of the Nepean family. Due to the quantity and fragility of some of these, it was decided to get extra volunteers involved in transcribing these onto computer, mainly working at home from scanned copies. A short documentary about the project, which won a prize at the Cornish Innovation awards, has been produced by the Cornwall Museums Partnership.

SALTASH BLUE PLAQUE TRAIL
Along with the erection of seven Blue Plaques at prominent places around the town, the Saltash Blue Plaque Trail was launched at the recent Saltash Heritage A.G.M.
The plaques were officially 'opened' by HRH Duchess of Gloucester on Thursday 15th September 2016, and you can take the trail at any time by picking up a leaflet at the Museum, Local History Centre, Guildhall or Saltash Library.
The plaques commemorate various Saltash people and the places they lived, but the trail passes several other locations of note. The trail leaflet has a map, as well as full directions, and compass bearings from one location to the next, so children of all ages can try a spot of map and compass work. Small compasses are available for sale in the museum if you want a go.
Blue Plaques: Ferdinand "Nandie" Keast, Admiral Sir Henry Jackson, Admiral Gordon Campbell, V.C., John Henry Martin, William Odgers, V.C., Anne Glanville, Lt. Colonel William Price Drury
